404 Error on Sign In w/Pretty URLs
Reported by Scot | May 6th, 2009 @ 11:42 AM | in 0.6
I'm getting a 404 error when trying to sign in (no register link?) with the new install updated May 6.
I've used the new config file as advertised and added my database settings, also uncommented the pretty urls option and added my domain (I assumed this was the new way to get pretty urls).
Anyhow, when I reverted back to non-pretty urls it found the sign in page 'url/?email_login' successfully.
Maybe there's more to setting up pretty urls?

thanks for trying out the newest code, been making lots of changes so there's bound to be some issues. I will attempt to replicate this error you describe, probably won't be too hard :-)

did you copy the file resource/prettyurls/.htaccess file to your omb top-level directory?

register and sign in do the same routine so it's not a problem, nevertheless I will restore the [Register] button

OK I just set this up and tested it and did not see the problem http://facebookstreams.com

So we still have the copying of resource/prettyurls/.htaccess file to your omb top-level directory? No, I didn't do that on the last install so that's likely the problem all right.
We should put that info right in the config file as a guide under the pretty url setup. Perhaps additional info on what the various 'other database settings' reference whould be included as well.
Much improved install overall though.
