Feature Request: Convert Tags to lower case letters

To keep count of double-tags small it would be a good thing to convert entered tags to lower case letters automatically.

I tested posts
with tags:
Fancy fancy Pantsy pants Pantsy
and
Fenster, fenster, pity, pithy, Pithy
the result follows:
mysql> select term from categories;
+---------+ | term | +---------+ | fancy | | pantsy | | pants | | fenster | | pity | | pithy | +---------+ -

Okay, but Tags like 'Windows' are saved as 'Windows' and not 'windows' am I right? Maybe this irritates me. But that's okay for me.

If tags are working on your installation this is resolved. I have to try this on a new fresh install (if I am back from my travel). If I fail I will reopen this ticket :)
