Hey Scot,
Brian did't work on OMB last week because of another project. So this is still on the todo list.Greetings

Hey thanks Johannes, yes i am working on this one, and still finishing up my other project.
I'm using a project called "remy-tweed" that runs as a background task and pulls your twitter timeline.
Also, will have Facebook and Friendfeed streams soon after

Scot the follow-twitter-friends feature is now enabled, at the bottom of the README you can read how to set it up, let me know if you have any questions. - - Brian

Does this mean we have a working version of OMB that enables subscriptions to Twitter users? Is this working at openmicroblogger.com?

Yes.
When someone uses OAuth to authenticate to twitter, their twitter nickname will show up in the Admin area of OMB.
The friends_timeline of those Twitter users can be continuously auto-imported by doing 2 things:
1) choose their nickname in the "Sources" tab
2) set up your web hosting to run the cron job mentioned in the README
I'm not running it at openmicroblogger.com yet because I follow about 800 people.
